Akshay and Farah Khan
The Tees Maar Khan Team: Katrina, Akshay and Farah Khan
Akshay Kumar has all the right reasons to smile. His Tees Maar Khan has now taken the biggest ever opening of his career with the first day netting over 14 crores (as confirmed by the makers UTV Motion Pictures). Before TEES MAAR KHAN, Akshay's biggest opener was HOUSEFULL with the first day collections boasting of collections over 10 crores. However TMK with 14 crores has surpassed that mark by a huge margin, hence promising an enormous number once the first week comes to a close.
"This is indeed a huge achievement for Akshay Kumar," comments a trade observer, "2010 had started off well for him with HOUSEFULL being a hit. Even his KHATTA MEETHA has turned out to be a coverage affair and for the budget at which it was made, a 40 crores final run was decent enough."

The buzz surrounding the film is tremendous, mainly due to the success of Sheila ki Jawani. But there's a certain section of people who have found the song to be too vulgar.
However, director Farah Khan refutes such charges and says that she has not used any of her heroines in a vulgar way.
Farah says, 'I didn't use Katrina for titillation. She was comfortable also because she knew I was not trying to expose her or do something for titillation. She trusted me and I would never ever portray my heroines in a vulgar way.'
Continuing in the same vein, she says, 'She is looking sexy and sensuous but not vulgar or obscene. I would not shoot angles like that. If she was not comfortable with a take, I would immediately change it. And then she uses that voice which my daughters use when they want chocolate.'
